National Account Manager - Foodservice Chain Accounts

Are you a foodservice National Account Manager that who loves acquiring accounts through new products?

If yes, our National Account Manager role may be for you! As a member of our National Foodservice Chain Account team at BAF, this new position will primarily focus on developing business at new accounts national and large regional - by introducing new food items (our innovation offerings) along with our existing products to chain accounts on the Technomics top chain list (accounts 300-500).  You must be skilled at probing customer needs, concept selling and problem-solving to gain access to new accounts and develop relationships within them as this is a growth (hunter) role. Once in an account, you will help create signature offerings to differentiate them from their competitors. Most importantly, you have fun and love doing this type of work!

In this role, you will:

  1. Attain sales volume objectives in budgeted pounds by participating in the planning and implementation of the national account business plan and increasing current product volume and additional product penetration within the assigned account list. This list could include Top 100 accounts, but the focus is on second-tier accounts.
  2. Develop close working relationships with all critical levels at assigned accounts through personal sales calls, participation in association events and shows, and entertainment.
  3. Identify customer requirements by conducting a thorough account profile and developing a Sales Action Plan that will meet customer requirements with the benefits offered by our products through the effective use of professional selling skills and concept selling techniques.
  4. Work with appropriate Divisional and Region Sales Managers in planning and with Territory Sales Managers and Brokers in implementing an effective pull-through program, when necessary.
  5. Attain division financial goals by controlling spending within assigned expense budgets.
  6. Thoroughly understand back-of-house requirements of assigned accounts to ensure our products perform effectively for the customer.

Experience/skills required

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred
  • 5-7 years progressive foodservice related experience with successful results
  • Willing to travel 70-80% as required by the position
  • Demonstrated ability to
    • manage multiple projects concurrently and demonstrate the ability to manage complex sales cycle from start to finish
    • Gain the confidence and respect of associates, customers, and all levels of management
    • Establish priorities effectively and analyze account potential & competitive factors
  • Exceptional relationship, organizational and communication (written & oral) skills
  • Possess creativity and innovation as well as proficiency in professional selling skills and concept selling techniques
  • Demonstrated self-starter and a team player while working from a home-based office
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel 

This job can be located in the San Francisco Bay area, Dallas area, Tampa or Miami areas.
