This engineering position will lead and coordinate process development, process optimization, and process sustainment activities across all of BAF's plants, and will engage all stakeholders in the development of and execution of continuous improvement projects and activities.

Responsibilities

  1. Accountable for supporting our outstanding operations team by developing and sustaining process standards such as process recipes, process control plans, line diagrams, and operational employee training materials. Additional support to the factories in line audits and process troubleshooting events such as Kaizens.

 

  1. Lead the investigation of new technologies through on-site trials, supplier site testing (FAT Testing), and trade shows. Additionally, responsibility for implementing new technologies throughout the company, development of sustainability plans, and execution of new processes.

 

  1. Support the development of new products and/or enhancements to existing products through: 1) studies of current process capability; 2) development of gap evaluations to identify facility needs for successful product transitions; 3) stakeholder reviews to deliver options for successful completion of product rollouts; 4) creation of testing protocols; 5) execution of ongoing evaluation plans and 6) oversight of onsite testing.

 

  1. Development and execution of capital projects to drive operational improvement. Deliverables to include: 1) current state baselines; 2) project justification; 3) facility needs analysis; 4)  process operating narratives. Along with functioning as a liaison with engineering, PLC programming, contractors, and plant personnel, you will work to train employees on the functions of new equipment, project validations, and project audits to assure continued sustainable success.

 

  1. Process auditing, including 1) evaluation of training and certification of operators; 2) line audits of current state operation vs. baseline evaluation; 3) compliance with control plans and recipes; 4) process narrative validation and 6) substantial involvement in the management of change process.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree from a four-year college or university in an Engineering field; prefer related experience and/or training as a Process Engineer.

Preferred Qualifications       

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, PLC Historian programs, PLC HMI interactions, Data Tracer or other data logger hardware and software, JMP.
  • Experience and/or training in Six Sigma methodology, experience and/or training in Lean Manufacturing principles and practices, project management experience, and team leadership experience.
