Manage all daily work activity for the Basic American Foods Moses Lake warehouse complex, to include; the Moses Lake Plant Warehouse, and remote facility extension warehouses. Responsibility includes inventory accuracy, productivity improvement and lean initiatives, optimize operations and training that support customer requirements and direct product movement between Moses Lake warehouses and end users. 


Manage functions related to warehouse operations including, but not limited to Moses Lake customer order fulfillment, shipping & receiving of BAF products and supplies that support customer requirements, company warehousing, and plant production. Ensure   requirements in regard to quality and food safety are in compliance and meet SQF qualifications. 

Coordinate material supplies and product movement between BAF facilities where the Moses Lake warehouses are involved. Assist transportation analyst ensuring all loads are timely and meet or exceed BAF objectives and customer requirements. 

Works with BAF entities to support the Warehouse and Transportation Departments in functional area such as Maintenance, Human Resources, Procurement, Demand Planning, IT and all areas of operations.

Responsible to assist Moses Lake Management and H.R. with employee relations in all assigned areas ranging from verbal discussions to termination, union affairs, SAFE audits and employee engagement programs. Provides supervision across Moses Lake warehousing to maintain safety standards (both personal and food), enforce BAF policies.

Support BAF operations, QA related company functions with proper warehouse documentation associated with audits, for SQF, Silliker, YUM and all customer and governmental agencies.

Assist Moses Lake management team in developing warehousing and logistics budget. Responsible to implement established budget and meet all BAF cost objectives for the Moses Lake warehouses.


Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Hyperion Accounting software; MS Query, Crystal Database software; Halogen Human Resource systems; MS Internet Explorer, Kronos - Timekeeper central, MP2 Maintenance Management software, INFOR, Warehouse Management System (WMS) Internet software; Adage, WM9 Inventory software; OPS Reporting, Tech Docs, Timex Manufacturing software; PM (Performance Management), Adage, WM9 Order processing systems; MS Excel, MS Query Spreadsheet software and MS Word Processing software.


Work with minimal or no supervision.  Employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and smell.  The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  The employee must be able to drive a vehicle and may be required to travel in a car or airplane.

Employee is frequently exposed to wet and humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually high and hearing protection is required.


Proactively manage safety by ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations and internal Company policies.  Regularly complete behavior-based safety observations.  Ensure unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner.  All employees are responsible for upholding the principles of SQF 2000.   All employees are responsible for immediately reporting any food safety, food quality, or plant security issues to management for appropriate action.

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university and three to four years warehouse experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
